Donna Diamond, our book discussion leader, has chosen The Appeal by John Grisham as the November selection.
In his 20th novel, John Grisham again gives us his trademark legal thriller coupled with corrupt Supreme Court Justices, mud-slinging campaigns, and malevolent actions from Big Business. In profiling the Mississippi Supreme Court system, the author tackles questions of right vs. wrong, good vs. evil and morality vs. immorality, with equal parts objectivity and scorn.
Although vintage Grisham, The Appeal is informative and compelling and will "appeal" to those wishing to glean an insider's view of our court system, and Grisham's indictment of contemporary politics.
