Happy Earth Day!

"Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth
find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts."

Each year, Earth Day - April 22 - marks the anniversary of what many consider the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970.  This year is the 44th celebration of Earth Day, and it is recognized in 192 countries around the world.

Check out this selection of library books and DVDs relating to Earth Day, the environment, the ocean, your own backyard, and more.  Find out what you can do to help preserve our planet and make our world sustainable for generations to come.
