Review: A drug related felony lands Piper Kerman in federal prison to serve her year sentence. Her experiences are documented in this quick read memoir that is somewhat insightful at times. Drawing strength from her network of family and friends, she is luckier than most of the other inmates. Her story has some redeeming qualities in that she does point out the need for prison reform and programs especially for women inmates and she does display some remorse in the actions of her younger self.
