April Book Discussion - "Wait Till Next Year"

Wednesday, April 15th from 11:30 AM - 1 PM

Join Donna Diamond and the morning book discussion group to discuss the 2009 Long Island Reads selection, Wait Till Next Year. The New York Times bestseller by Pulitzer-Prize winning author Doris Kearns Goodwin is a memoir of growing up on Long Island in the 1950s, and a love of family and baseball—specifically the Brooklyn Dodgers.

It was the world of Campanella, Reese, Snider, Hodges and Jackie Robinson. It was a time when New York had three baseball teams with very clearly defined fan bases. You may pick up a copy of this book at the Circulation Desk.

The Long Island Reads Committee has invited Doris Kearns Goodwin to speak at the Brentwood Public Library on Wednesday, May 6th at 1 PM. Tickets are available beginning April 1st on a first-come, first-served basis with a limit of two per person. Call 631-286-1600 x1366 for tickets and more information.
