Adult Summer Reading Club Review: Ilium

Title: Ilium
Author: Dan Simmons
Review: An imaginative story told by the author of a number of science-fiction novels, Ilium is the first in a short series of books that weaves mythology (the Trojan War and the ensuing travels of Odysseus) into a post-apocalyptic world populated by both Achilles and friendly aliens. Alternating between several different points of view, including that of a classics professor from the late 20th century, this book can often be confusing during the course of the read, but it does come together in the end.
Rating: 4 out of 5
